As a teacher I feel like I will let my students use Wikipedia to a certain degree. I feel like this is a great site to do class discussions and open discussions on. To allow studnets to conduct their own opinions on their research helps them open up and explain their thoughts which as a teacher helps me allaberate on thier personal ideas. I think as far as writing essays this isn't a site that should be used for a work sited. Although it is great to create pro an con discussions exct. Teachers have to be careful that their students are learning facts and not opinions. Which is why I feel that classroom discusions allow me as a teacher to make a call on the information and help research facts and explain the information better.

I choose to valiadate the website on Martin Luther King the website URL is: http://www.martinlutherking.org/. I think this site will be good to validate because it is a .org which means this is an organization.

Domain name/extension- There isn't an actual domain name or extension. It siply says: Attention Students: Try our MLK Pop Quiz, at the top of the web page. This automatically shows the lower standard of the site.
Author/Authority- There isn't one set author listed, in fact no ones name is put down on the web page to reffer the information or creator to.
Purpose of the site- This seemingly innocent web site address calls for the abolition of Martin Luther King Day and promotes White Pride. Content is inappropriate for all ages.
Date of page creation/updates- There isn't a set date on the development of the website. There really aren't even dates to back up the infromation posted in the "facts" page.

Sometimes the information on the internet may not always be facts. Majority of the time information provided is a persons opinion about a certain topic or fact alone. I think after reviewing the internet sites it is obivous through the type of language and set up of a web page as to rather or not it is lagit.

3. Model Digital-Age Work and Learning
C. communicate relevant information and ideas effectively to students, parents, and peers using a variety of digital-age media and formats.

This is a good activity because it helps students understand what a site consists of.

One new thing I learned about SmartBoards from my peers is the actual benefit that smartboards really have in a classroom. I think these boards may tend to be priced a little high but in the future in a classroom they tend to pay off. I also think it helps bring in more technological skills which I noticed from the activities we covered.
